My name is Kyle. I am a happily failing indie/punk/folk/country/rock musician from Hampshire, UK. I have been singing and songwriting in The Dawn Chorus since 2005, and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players since 2010. I love these two bands like my brother/wife rolled into one. This blog details the shows I have played with both bands, in chronological order.

We like Prettyboy Promotions, they called us 'uplifting indie pop master craftsmen'. Last time round they called us 'intelligent'. There were many enjoyable points to the night, and not too many downsides.
- Super greasy onion rings and cheesy chips go down a treat, all promoters should consider the benefits of laying on these artery busting goodies.
- We let Neil skip soundcheck to go for food at Wetherspoon's, and it certainly made us realise what Neanderthals the rest of us are in terms of organising a soundcheck. 'Piss up in a brewery' would be one way of putting it. Luckily he came back, told us what sounded shit and we sorted it out. The soundman didn't exactly help, but we'll let him off since he's a stone cold comic legend and the least PC man we have ever met. He called Paul a 'ludicrous ivory basher', a phrase that we might have to put into our cd sleeves in future.
- Bit of a nightmare on our first two songs, Paul's keyboard playing was shonky to say the least. As it turns out, he'd leant on the 'transpose' button (which we didn't know existed), rendering it literally impossible to play a correct note. This button has since been removed and will never be spoken of again.
- The Stations are sounding pretty tasty these days, but it has occurred to me that their song 'Disappointed in You' sounds like The Time Warp. Simps loves The Time Warp, so i'll have to let him know about my theory.
So on the whole, lots of fun. A bit shoddy, but the cobwebs are blown off and we're ready for the big EP launch xx
