The Dawn Chorus / The Retrospective Soundtrack Players - Blogging all over the World

My name is Kyle. I am a happily failing indie/punk/folk/country/rock musician from Hampshire, UK. I have been singing and songwriting in The Dawn Chorus since 2005, and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players since 2010. I love these two bands like my brother/wife rolled into one. This blog details the shows I have played with both bands, in chronological order.

LXXIX - Winchester Railway Inn - 13/10/07

Saturday 13th October 2007
Winchester Railway Inn

Shit Hot Llamas
The Mopes
Dead! Dead! Dead!
Thomas Tantrum
The Glad Rags
The Dawn Chorus

Possibly the best bill we've played on but due to the volume of bands we were on at doors. Never been on at doors before. We played to the promoter, soundman, our 3 mates and members of other bands. Ho hum. Thomas Tantrum and Dead x3 were awesome and England winning the rugby even more so. Thomas Tantrum accidentally nicked Neil's guitar at the end of the evening so Neil was stuck with a girly blue guitar for a few days. But we got them swapped back without having to send the boys round so all is well.

LXXVIII - Southampton Joiners - 10/10/07

Weds 19th October 2007
Southampton Joiners

Misty's Big Adventure
Kate Goes
Frisbee in the Jewel Box
The Dawn Chorus

Bottom of the bill unfortunately but nice to get back into playing. We had been practising brand new stuff for weeks but not ready to unleash any of it live just yet. But we've got pretty good at playing a half hour set of old classics now so all is good. Can't report on the other bands since i was knackered and didn't hang around for too long, though the singer of Kate Goes was wearing interesting socks and slippers.

LXXVII - Little Johnny Russell's, Portsmouth - 15/09/07

Saturday 15th September 2007
Little Johnny Russell's, Portsmouth

Us and loads of other bands

We did an all-dayer for charity but Paul was at a wedding so we didn't have Paul so it was only ever going to ok at best but it went ok.
