The Dawn Chorus / The Retrospective Soundtrack Players - Blogging all over the World

My name is Kyle. I am a happily failing indie/punk/folk/country/rock musician from Hampshire, UK. I have been singing and songwriting in The Dawn Chorus since 2005, and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players since 2010. I love these two bands like my brother/wife rolled into one. This blog details the shows I have played with both bands, in chronological order.

LXXXI - Brixton Windmill, London

Sunday 4th November 2007
Brixton Windmill

Dead Dead Dead
Umdongskulen
Batrider
Vincent
The Dawn Chorus
The Clowns

The Clowns were very yee-ha country and not bad for it.
We played next and it was a real sunday crowd, not very enthusiastic and i think just down to see The Clowns. But we made a decent fist of it.
Vincent were a strange proposition. Their bassist told me he liked one of our songs but to 'ease off the Radiohead'. I chose to ignore this advice.
Didn't see Batrider - having a pint with some friends.
Ungdomskulen were pretty good but to be honest i only saw their soundcheck asnd bought a t-shirt, which is much more purple in real life than it was on their merch stand.
DDD probably played to quite an empty venue since they were put on at about 11pm on a sunday after 5 other bands. We left to get a reasonably early night.

AMAZING BUFFET
The Windmill do the best Buffet going. Fantastic. So plentiful that there was buffet left for the punters when thay started coming in.

Swindon Vic

Otaka
The Dawn Chorus
Octograph (?)

Nice buffet.
