My name is Kyle. I am a happily failing indie/punk/folk/country/rock musician from Hampshire, UK. I have been singing and songwriting in The Dawn Chorus since 2005, and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players since 2010. I love these two bands like my brother/wife rolled into one. This blog details the shows I have played with both bands, in chronological order.
Monday 21st June 2010
Bristol Louisiana
Owen Nicholson
The Dawn Chorus
We did a favour for our mate Owen to raise a few pennies for Raleigh International. It was far too hot for a two hour drive to Bristol, but a nice relaxing sound check due to us being the only full band was well received.
We played quite well, the Louie is a nice venue. Then drove 2 hours home, 4 hours sleep and then up again for work. Hell yeah.
Sunday June 6th 2010
Swindon 12 Bar
Buswell (with strings)
Sweet Plum Trio
The Dawn Chorus
Frank and Jules
The previous gig in Swindon we met Shaun, a very nice sound guy, he asked us to support his band at the 12 bar, so we did.
His band had 11 members for this gig! Lots of strings. Lots of everything really. They were great.
I lost my tuner pedal :(
It was my birthday and I got the complete 'The Thick of It' on DVD :)
I ordered a cheeseburger at McD's and got a double :) x 1000
Good times

I'm currently madly googling to try to find the names of the 2 bands we played with. I really can't remember. Back in the day I had a photographic memory for this type of thing. We hadn't been to Swindon for ages and we probably had our best show there. It was my Mum's birthday and we gave her the cake treatment, much like we did for Pauly B's Mum at the previous gig.
We played without Wit and it went well. That is all I can remember. Loser.
