My name is Kyle. I am a happily failing indie/punk/folk/country/rock musician from Hampshire, UK. I have been singing and songwriting in The Dawn Chorus since 2005, and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players since 2010. I love these two bands like my brother/wife rolled into one. This blog details the shows I have played with both bands, in chronological order.

The Dawn Chorus
Mrs Burns
The Mindless Ones
Kentish Town, Kentish Town, Yes!
SO we set off at about 3 o'clock from stubb to pick keef up from work and head to lahnden town. It was all going well until we got past wembley and we started going a bit astray from the directions. Me and simps got a little bit stressed.
'YOU have the directions so sell me which way to go!'
'i just can't see any of this on the directions. we definitely don't want to go back towards wembley'
'whichever way i go is the wrong way!'
'is this even a proper road? are we allowed to be here?'
somehow we only turned up 20 minutes late for soundcheck. This was by far the most random set of bands we have played with. The Mindless Ones were an electro-punk double-bass (as in 2 bass players) headfuck (in the best way possible), and Mrs Burns sounded something like the girl from the Go Team fronting the Chilli Peppers (i should be a music journalist with these brilliant comparisons). We wish all the best to Mrs Burns, they were thenicest people you could wish to meet.
it was a great little venue and it really gave us the confidence that we were lacking at the Southampton Uni gig. i can't speak for the rest of the band, but Escape was an absolute joy to play, it's really coming toigether now. we rattled through 8 songs which probably took about 20 minutes in our over-hyped state, but we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. i've never seen simps so sweaty, so i'm guessing he enjoyed it too.
cheers again to everyone who came along, we really are thankful for your support
