The Dawn Chorus / The Retrospective Soundtrack Players - Blogging all over the World

My name is Kyle. I am a happily failing indie/punk/folk/country/rock musician from Hampshire, UK. I have been singing and songwriting in The Dawn Chorus since 2005, and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players since 2010. I love these two bands like my brother/wife rolled into one. This blog details the shows I have played with both bands, in chronological order.

LXX - Portsmouth Yates' - 11/07/07

11th July 2007
Portsmouth Yates'

The Dawn Chorus
The Rebs
The Rivers of Sound
Rossco

This was one of those gigs which seems to go quite well, probably because you set your expectations very low to start with.

Yates' is not the sort of place I would ever really go, other than for a quick cheap pint before Route '66 when I was 17. And even then I would usually go to 'spoons. But it was pleasing to win over a crowd who, when we started playing, seemed to be taking the piss out of us. But some people ended up buying shirts and EPs so me must have done something right. Today we started playing 'Little Pinpricks' by starting with a little section of Kurt Cooder's 'The Cello Player', which is fun. These are not very good sentences.
