The Dawn Chorus / The Retrospective Soundtrack Players - Blogging all over the World

My name is Kyle. I am a happily failing indie/punk/folk/country/rock musician from Hampshire, UK. I have been singing and songwriting in The Dawn Chorus since 2005, and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players since 2010. I love these two bands like my brother/wife rolled into one. This blog details the shows I have played with both bands, in chronological order.

The Dawn Chorus

We were going to try to get the Marvellous Mechanical Band and B of the Bang in on this show but they both pulled out late on - losers. However, the OH does pay handsomely, which may or may not be the main reason why we did this show. Let's just say it paid for the hostel we shared with a scared portugese man in Plymouth which we still hadn't paid for (see below) and then some. In honesty I don't think any of us had a whale of a time but after the interval (!) it did get more enjoyable and it was nice to do a 16-song set, including 'Ringof Fire', which hasn't seen the light of day for quite some time. Big thanks again go to Big Al who put in a sterling effort setting up the PA and being soundman. Only a couple more shows now before a bit of a break and then maybe another tour in February. One month til Christmas, my favouritest time of the year.
