CCXLVI - Leeds Royal Park Cellars - 01/12/12
A day in Leeds with RSP:
- Long drive. Leeds is too far away. But it is nice to live in a country where you can do a one-off gig at the other end of the land.
- Red Mercury were great and Charlie Barnes is just on another planet. Don't ever go on stage after him if you can help it - he's insanely talented. It's not fair.
- We were plagued by constant sound problems, which but a downer on an otherwise decent gig. Although, oddly, two guys kept yelling for me to take my shirt off. I was going to do it if we got an encore call, but we didn't.
- Charlie and his friends then took us to a great club were we boogied to classic soul and drank rum for a very long time. We then got in a taxi with a mad Ghanaian guy who had his mate in the passenger seat, abused other cars and drove at 60mph on roads with a 30 limit. If we weren't all drunk we may have objected, but he was pretty cheap.
